Decommissoning of the Windermere and Cavendish platforms
In March, Scaldis completed another challenging project for our client INEOS UK SNS Limited; the decommissioning of the Windermere and Cavendish Platforms in the UK sector of the Southern North Sea. These platforms were located in a protected area, which meant removal had to wait until after the breeding season of the seabirds. So, operations could start only late in 2023.
The scope of this project was large and consisted of engineering, preparations, removal and disposal of the Windermere and Cavendish platforms. The execution of the works was divided in 6 phases; starting with the removal plan and engineering onshore, contracted subsea separation works, offshore preparation works, platform removals with 4 in-hook transports, followed by seabed cleaning and survey, and, finally, dismantling and disposal of all materials.
We would like to thank our client INEOS UK SNS Limited for the constructive collaboration on this project. And the whole team and crew at Scaldis for safely and successfully completing the decommissioning. Once again, Scaldis has confirmed its reputation as leading EPRD contractor in the Southern North Sea!
