Gulliver installs offshore transformer station on DP

Heavy lift vessel Gulliver departed from Flushing to the Northwester 2 offshore site and performed her DP trials and preparations for installation. At sunrise, we received permission from Parkwind to start the operation. The substation transportation barge was moored to the Gulliver and the dyneema slings connect to the topside. Once the topside was lifted, The Gulliver sailed to the foundation and carefully started positioning herself before finally lowering the topside into position. For the first time, Scaldis had installed a topside completely on DP and thereby set a new milestone for the company.
Under the approving eye of its next client at the Seamaid offshore field, Scaldis completed the works and set sail back to port. Thanks to a good preparation and a motivated team the entire operation was performed in a record time. Scaldis has once more shown that it is ready for a safe and successful future and can play an important role in the coming energy transition.
