Ineos UK SNS Limited has awarded Scaldis the decommissioning of the Windermere and Cavendish Platforms in the UK sector of the Southern North Sea. These platforms were located in a protected area and had to be removed outside the breeding season of seabirds (e.g. Kittiwake), which allowed removal operations to start only late in 2023.

The scope consisted of the engineering, preparations, removal and disposal of the Windermere and Cavendish platforms.

The execution of the works was divided in 6 phases:

1. Removal Plan & Removal Engineering (onshore)
2. Subsea Separation works (subcontracted)
3. Offshore Preparation works
4. Platform Removals: 4 in-hooks transports
5. Seabed Cleaning & Survey
6. Dismantlement & Disposal of all materials (subcontracted)

Besides the 4 main lifts (2 topsides and 2 jackets) also 2 conductors, 1 conductor stub and a subsea cooler were retrieved to shore for disposal.
